Here’s a touching surprise 4th birthday video created by Erica Ross in collaboration with Shake community members celebrating and expressing so eloquently how they’ve been impacted by the Shake through the past four years:

Thank you for being on camera and sharing!

☀️ Contributions ☀️

Try out the dance for free! If you love it and want to support us in continuing to offer it, please visit
https://fundrazr.com/RiseShineShake
PayPal (Canadian or US funds) and Interac e-transfers are also appreciated!

☀️ ZOOM LOG-IN INFO ☀️
To help protect the safety of our Zoom container, we send a weekly email with the log-in information. To register for this, go to:

☀️ What to expect ☀️
Music you can move to - shake, wiggle, tap, bob... perhaps even dance.
Friends & strangers shaking, jumping, twisting, rolling, stretching, exercising, and moving freely -- like no one’s watching.
Minimal direction.

Names of the musical artists & track names are listed in the Zoom chat.

While there is some conversation in the Zoom chat (about the music, about what the music or movement has stirred up, etc), there is no expectation to read any of it or to respond! Some people don't look at the chat at all.

☀️ Sharing Circle ☀️
Following the 45-minute main set, we take a few moments for ourselves and then breathe a few breaths together.
The floor is then opened for sharing about the experience: speaking, displaying art, reading a poem or composition, or making a request.

Our Rise and Shine Facebook group ☀️ Deeper Dive ☀️
On Wednesdays, Erica Ross & Michael Haltrecht hold space for Deeper Dive - an hour-long sharing & support circle 10:15am-11:15am ET. It's a separate event from the Shake, and you are welcome to join even if you didn't make it to the Shake.
It follows the Pay-from-the-Heart model like the Shake, but to a separate Interac email address: erica@ericaross.com

☀️ Our Community Culture☀️
If any of these don’t feel good to you, please let us know!

We:
✓ keep ourselves muted except while we're speaking.
✓ keep our activities & sharing family-friendly.
✓ join with video on or off. (Truly no need to be seen on-camera!)
✓ do whatever we need to do - dance, stretch, eat, garden, work, play with our pets, cry.
✓ refrain from capturing video or photos.
✓ hold respect, compassion, and open-heartedness as principle values.
✓ listen to whatever music we want.
✓ participate in the chat or completely ignore it.
✓ maintain confidentiality. We consider everything personal that is mentioned in the sharing circles and Deeper Dives as confidential. If we feel compelled to bring up a topic that has been previously discussed, we do so without details that would make it possible to identify the people.
✓ we speak about our personal experience (we avoid talking about others’ experiences or we obtain their consent beforehand).
✓ don’t “yum” someone else’s “yuck” nor “yuck” someone else’s “yum”
✓ practise obtaining consent. For example, if we’d like to pin someone, and they don’t have ’YP’ in their name, we ask them in the chat.
✓ practise self-responsibility. For example, when we are uncomfortable being seen, we turn off our video.
✓ ask for support when we need it.
✓ prefix ’1YP’ to our Zoom name to show interest to having pinned dances.
✓ prefix ’no pin’ or ’NP’ to our Zoom name to show no interest to having pinned dances. (’Pin’ is a Zoom feature that makes one person’s image your focus.)
✓ are mindful of our witnessing or watching of others. Even though we are interacting over Zoom, people can sense when they’re being watched for extended periods of time (even 30 seconds) and it can feel creepy.
